Membrane SOA Router is a modular configureable open source HTTP and SOAP intermediary written in Java. It is full configureable due to Spring style configuration. It provides a commandline interface and a framework. Using the framework it can be embedded into other software. Using Membrane SOAP Router the following tasks can be accomblished:
- Auditing of SOAP traffic
- SOAP routing in a DMZ/Firewall
- Gathering performance statistics
- Reporting of real-time service usage
- Load balancing
- URL rewriting
- Access control
- It can function as a HTTP proxy and as a HTTP reverse proxy
The small memory consumption of less than 20 Megabytes makes it possible to run an instance of Membrane SOAP Monitor on any computer that provides or consumes web services.
