2. SOAP and HTTP Monitoring
Membrane Monitor can capture the HTTP traffic between a client and a server.
To do that, the messages must be routed through the monitor. There are two ways to place the monitor between client and server. The following sections describe both alternatives.
Using the Monitor as HTTP Proxy
All HTTP requests sent by an application to SOAP engines and Web Servers can be routed through a HTTP proxy. A proxy setup is especially useful during development, test and client side runtime monitoring. To do that, the application must be configured to use Membrane monitor as proxy. See the description how to use the monitor as proxy.
Using the Monitor as Reverse Proxy
A reverse proxy is also placed between client and server. The proxy works as a proxy for one or multiple servers, not as a proxy for clients. A client request is read and forwarded to the server.
