Web Services Availability Monitoring

The availability of WebServices is critical as more and more systems depend on them. After registering a service in Membrane Registry its availability will be monitored automatically. In the figure below you can see a list of services and their availability.

As you can see, the MovieInformation Service is only available 98,46 % of the time. Membrane measures the availability by calling the service periodically. The time between two ping calls can be configured for each service individually. The ping can be sent to all SOAP services reachable over HTTP. The ping won't do any harm to the service or invoke any business functionality. The service does not have to provide a special operation for the ping call. Any Web Service can be pinged.
